Launch Your Career as a Junior Performance Designer

Are you a digital native who is obsessed with visual trends? Do you find yourself analysing the ads in your own feed instead of just scrolling past them? At Convertico, we believe that creative is the most powerful lever in marketing. We are looking for a Junior Performance Designer—someone with raw design talent and a relentless work ethic—to join our creative squad. You’ll be working alongside senior heavy hitters to design, edit, and iterate on assets for some of South Africa's most exciting brands.‍

What Makes You a Perfect Fit?

  • You’re a Visual Sponge: You pick up design trends and platform requirements faster than anyone else.
  • You’re Fast but Precise: You understand that in an agency, speed is a feature, but you never sacrifice the quality of your file exports or typography.
  • You’re Receptive to Feedback: You don't get attached to your designs. You understand that if the data says "it’s not working," it’s time to try a new angle.
  • You’re Multi-Disciplinary: You aren’t afraid to jump from a static image in Photoshop to a quick video edit in Premiere Pro or a layout in Canva.‍

Your Role at Convertico

As a Junior Performance Designer, you are the engine of our creative testing:

  • Ad Asset Production: Assisting in the creation of static images, carousels, and simple motion graphics for Meta and Google.
  • UGC Video Editing: Taking raw creator footage and cutting it into high-energy video ads with captions, transitions, and hooks.
  • Email Layout Support: Helping build out visually stunning and mobile-responsive email templates for our retention team.
  • Creative Iteration: Taking a winning ad concept and "reskinning" it with new colours, headlines, and call-to-actions to keep performance high.
  • Asset Management: Keeping our brand libraries organised and ensuring all clients have the correct specs for every platform.

What You Bring to the Table:

  • 6–18 Months Experience: A degree in Design or some hands-on experience in an internship or junior role (specifically with digital/social assets).
  • Software Fluency: Solid foundational skills in Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator. Experience with Premiere Pro, CapCut, or After Effects is a massive plus.
  • Attention to Detail: You know your RGB from your CMYK and your 4:5 from your 9:16.
  • A Growth Mindset: You want to learn the "Why" behind the design—understanding how layout influences human behaviour.

Why Join Convertico?

This isn't an internship where you'll be making coffee. You'll be making ads that reach millions of people:

  • Accelerated Learning: You will learn more about marketing psychology in 6 months here than you would in 4 years at a traditional agency.
  • Real Ownership: Once you prove your skills, you’ll be given the keys to design for high-growth brands like Charme Beauty and ScapeGear.
  • Vibrant Culture: Join a team that works hard, wins big, and believes in the power of in-person collaboration.
  • Performance Rewards: We notice hard work. High performers move up our ranks very quickly.‍

Role Details:

  • Location: On-site at our Pretoria (Lynwood) office. We believe elite designers are built through real-time feedback and collaboration.
  • Start Date: Immediately.
  • Salary Range: R12,000 – R22,000 per month (Depending on your current portfolio and how quickly you can hit the ground running).‍

Take the Next Step:

Are you ready to stop being a "graphic designer" and start being a "performance architect"? If you have a portfolio that shows you have the eye and the energy to win, we want to see it. Answer the application questions below and show us what you’ve got.
