Perfumology is a premier South African retailer specialising in inspired-by fragrances from the world’s most iconic perfume houses. Operating in the luxury beauty sector, they offer a curated selection of scents to a discerning customer base that values both value for money and a premium shopping experience. In a market where digital "noise" is high and consumer trust is paramount, Perfumology has established itself as a trusted destination for fragrance enthusiasts seeking both classic staples and niche discoveries.
Despite having a premium product catalog, Perfumology faced the challenge of rising acquisition costs and a competitive landscape that made it difficult to maintain healthy profit margins. Here the challenge was simple, we existed in a niche dominated by industry standards and we needed to continue taking market share at a profit margin that made sense to the business.
We implemented the Quantum Growth Model with a focus on "Total Ecosystem Synergy." We started by refining their Paid Media strategy on Meta, moving away from generic targeting toward testing and fishing for new audiences that we could tap into. To combat increased competition and rising ad costs we not only increased their creative input significantly but, furthermore, we worked very closely with the team to bring about promotional offers that challenged the industry at large. This helped us effectively capitalise on certain periods to ensure profit margins while still scaling the business at a healthy margin.
